Discovery in Greywater
Session 1 - 5th August 2024
We find our duo in the town of Greywater, a small town in the Swamps of Valore where the houses are built upon stilts and small rowing boats replace the need for carts and livestock. The town is much like it's name, Grey The people in town also seem to match the mood of the town going about their daily business which usually involves fishing of some kind.
Aric, a rather rough and tumble, no nonsense, veteran silently rows the boat further through the canals looking around for a drinking establishment of some kind. Trill on the other hand sits on the other end of the boat plucking a small melody on his lute while nervously looking around the spooky buildings and murky water as if expecting some kind of swamp monster to jump out at them.
"Aric are you sure we can't just find another town? This place gives me the creeps." Trill breaks the silence, the half-elf male is used to the dazzling city lights and safe, cobble streets he grew up in. Not some... backwater in the middle of nowhere, pardon the pun.
Aric was very quick to ignore the complaining of his companion. Trill however refused to take notice of his friend's dour mood and started strumming a few more notes on his lute. Though it didn't take long for something of interest to capture the young man's eye.

On the wooden walkway at the side of the canal a strange individual with pale blue skin and soft green eyes stands looking around trying to ask the townspeople for help.
Is anyone paying attention to the Eladrin?
No
He looks to be a Winter Eladrin, some of the townspeople do their best to avoid him skirting around the side or heading off in a different direction from the mysterious figure.
"Stop the boat Aric, I think I've found us a job." Trill points over to the Eladrin, Aric takes one look and groans in frustration.
"We need proper work Trill, we're out of supplies and I really need a good drink from that long trek across the marshes." Aric once again ignores the Half-Elf who gives him a wide eyed stare.
"Please Aric, look there's no harm in asking, right?" He softly pleads with his companion who gives a roll of his eyes before turning the boat around towards the Eladrin.
Character Conversation:
Loud, Bleak
As Aric directs the boat to the walkway as soon as they get close enough Trill jumps out and almost capsizes the small rowboat earning a scowl from Aric. Aric ties the boat up before following Trill warily keeping a hand on the hilt of his shortsword. Trill is already chatting away to the Eladrin by the time Aric arrives, their conversation is very loud and energetic, well of Trill's side it's loud, the Eladrin seems to be rather quickly roped into this one-sided conversation.
"Trill let them speak, hey, the name's Aric. This excited one here is my bud Trill. You look like you need a hand with something?" Aric grabs Trill by the shoulder and moves him gently to the side, a maneuver to put some distance between the stranger and the eager half-elf.
"Greetings, thank you for your time strangers. I go by Nadros Frostmire, please you may refer to me as Nadros if you wish. I must admit I am in some trouble."
Location: Natural Cave
Object: Horrible Fancy
Creature: Filthy Plant
Action: Oppose Vulnerability
"I was in possession of a rather strange, intricate artifact but unfortunately the party I was accompanying to deliver this artifact was attacked by Myconids when camping on the main road. Somehow they were aware of the power this artifact holds and attacked myself and my companions. I was the only one left alive, I ran here to get help, but haven't had much luck with finding anyone." Nadros speaks very softly his movements seem deliberate and graceful he takes his time with his words, though his expression is rather bleak he seems to be assessing the duo to see their intentions.
"What is this artifact you speak of?" Aric too is wary of the other party he has removed his hand from the hilt of his sword but is still prepared.
"Apologies, it goes by Sylene's Wish, it is a powerful item that can provide life-giving water to an area. We were on our way to deliver it to Brighthollow for safekeeping."
Aric gives a look to Trill who nods determinedly giving Aric a thumbs up.
"We would be up for helping, but it'll cost ya."
Nadros gives a quick nod of understanding.
"Of course, I can pay you. 10GP each for your help? I must also ask if I can accompany you to this area. I must make sure the bodies of my companions are put to rest. I also am aware of what the artifact looks like."
Aric gives a shrug heading back along the pier.
"As long as we get paid I've got no issues with it, c'mon let's get a move on. We need to get some supplies and a drink before we head off." Aric is quick to act heading back along the walkway to the small rowboat tied up. Trill gives a smirk to Nadros gesturing him to follow them.
"Aric is a bit short but he means well. Come on you can tell us where a good inn is for a decent drink and a kip." He leads Nadros to the small boat before hopping in.
Nadros follows his movement almost like floating as he walks gracefully across the walkway. Taking a seat in the middle of the boat between the duo.
Name Part:
Be N(I chose to read this as Bee)
"You will find the Inn known as The Honeybee if you row down the main canal. The proprietor is known to sell the best Honey Mead in the area I'm sure it will be to your satisfaction."
The now trio row further down the canal Trill now chatting feverishly to their new companion while the other two are forced to listen unable to get a word in.
